Thank you for praying! Today, we found out that both the campers we visited with became Christians this past school year! We have been enjoying the hospitality of Juergen's parents and had a good time today visiting with the Svigels! Tomorrow, we will be going to Juergen's church, in part to raise more awareness there about what we are doing at Padercamp. After lunch, we will be leaving to go on tour with Juergen. We will probably not have internet access, but please be praying for several things. Pray for good discussions while we debreif the camp and make some suggestions for next year. Please also be praying for Sarah, because we will be visiting the mission headquarters that she is planning to have as her sending agency
Thanks for praying! We are full of stories of happenings and ways that we saw God at work, however we are exclusively communicating in Denglish right now, so they probably would not make any since . . . or is it sense . . . or does it matter? We reached the conclusion of the camp today. Please continue to pray for us and our campers. We will be in Germany for another week. Tomorrow we plan to meet with the Svigel's and two of the campers from previous camps who were unable to come to camp this year. We tried to post the above yesterday, but we lost the internet connection, gave up, and went to bed. So today we plan to meet with the Svigels and campers.
Sorry, no pictures today. Our memory card is currently be loaded with the pictures the camp photographer took of us. Please keep praying us through the end of the camp tomorrow! The Gospel is advancing, but we are also being attacked. Daniel took one for the team and decided to be the American this year that got a ride to the hospital in a big red van with flashing lights on top. Some campers are discussing salvation with us. Others are considering baptism, and others how they can follow Jesus more faithfully. Tomorrow the camp will be finished, but the battle to continue discipleship will not stop.
Here is the schedule for tomorrow . . . actually, the schedule for later this morning! 8:00am Wake-up call: Staff and Campers 8:30am Breakfast 10:00am Parents arrive 10:30am Closing Session (parents and all) 12:00am Coffee/Campers leave 1:00pm Dinner Afternoon: Clean up Thanks for your prayers! Many people have told Hannah that the camper she talked to yesterday is almost acting like a different person. She is smiling and is often in the middle of the fun with the other girls. Sarah's camper that has been ill was taken to the hospital yesterday and stayed overnight, but she came back to camp today. Daniel and Hannah combined the boys and girls devotional time, and Daniel presented the overarching story of Scripture today. (Something most of the campers really don't know) Seth . . . well, among other things, Seth is excited that our staff meeting has been moved back to 8:00 tomorrow morning! Please be praying for us and our campers tomorrow, which is our last full day. Please pray that each one of them will have a clear understanding of the Gospel and be able to communicate it to others, and that they will be changed.
Last full day of PaderCamp! Here is the schedule:
7:00am Staff Meeting 8:00am Wake-up call: Campers 8:20am Morning Games 8:30am Breakfast 9:30am Biblestudy 10:30am Workshops 11:30am Testimonies 1:00pm Dinner 2:00pm Bistro 3:00pm English Lesson 4:00pm Competition: "Gold-Nugget" 6:00pm Supper 7:30pm Evening Session 9:00 Campfire/Snack 10:30pm Brush teeth 10:45pm "Sleepingbag time" Praise God that one of the girls is now a believer in the person and work of Jesus Christ! After the devotion time, Hannah spoke alone with one her campers for whom she has been praying for two years. For the first time, this girl did not keep Hannah at a distance, and she confessed Jesus as her Savior for her sins! This is one of the campers for whom Hannah has specifically asked for prayer. Please keep praying!! God is answering them, but there are also some significant battles going on here! Here is our schedule for tomorrow: 7:00am Staff Meeting
8:00am Wake-up call: Campers 8:20am Morning Games 8:30am Breakfast 9:30am Biblestudy 10:30am Workshops 12:00am English Lesson 1:00pm Dinner 2:00pm Bistro 3:00pm Competition: "Parkour" 6:00pm Supper 7:30pm Evening Session 9:00pm Campfire/Snack 10:30pm Brush teeth 10:45pm "Sleepingbag time" "Do you know Daniel, the pastor? Did you know he is a pastor? He is a Pastor and a Bad A$$" Hannah just about fell off of the bench when one of her and Daniel's boys made this observation in total admiration. He was impressed by Daniel's ability to drive in spikes with a couple of blows of the hammer, his athletic prowess while playing baseball, and his general ability at whatever he puts his hand to. The camper went on to say, "Not only is he a bad a$$, he is a really cool guy." He proceeded to tell how Daniel brought a gift from America just for him. (It was a Bible, and it is a cool story, so ask about it when we get back. We are recovering from the hike, but the fatigue of the camp is starting to set in. Sarah spent much of her day with three campers who physically were unable to participate in games, God has been working in a special way in all three of them. Seth is Mr. Popular around the camp. . . and not just with the ladies. Only one guy was signed up for American football, but when they found out who was leading it, four more joined in the game. One of the girls who Hannah has been praying for for two years, asked today for prayer that she would trust God, because He is the one who is able to save and help us better than anyone else. The schedule for tomorrow . . . well, not quite the schedule for tomorrow. We are going canoing for a couple of hours in the place of the English Lessons and Workshops.
7:00am Staff Meeting 8:00am Wake-up call: Campers 8:20am Morning Games 8:30am Breakfast 9:30am Biblestudy 10:30am English Lesson 11:30am Workshops 1:00pm Dinner 2:00pm Competition: "Battle of Paderborn" 6:00pm Supper 7:30pm Evening Session 9:00pm Campfire/Snack 10:30pm Brush teeth 10:45pm "Sleepingbag time" Sarah and Seth are in the same "Family." They have nine girls and six boys for whom they are responsible, along with a German male and female counselor. Hannah and Daniel are in the same "Family." The set up is the same, but they have one more boy in their "Family."
Please be praying for our unsaved campers. Please also be praying for our campers to be healthy. (There have been some problems.) Also, please pray especially for Sarah that she would have the chance to spend some time with her girls. Between campers passing out, regular tasks, doing the music, and etc. She has had a hard time being with the healthy girls. Here is tomorrow's schedule. 7:00am Staff Meeting 8:00am Wake-up call: Campers 8:20am Morning Games 8:30am Breakfast 9:30am Biblestudy 10:30am English Lesson 11:30am Workshops 1:00pm Dinner 2:00pm Competition: "Battle of Paderborn" 6:00pm Supper 7:30pm Evening Session 9:00pm Campfire/Snack 10:30pm Brush teeth 10:45pm "Sleepingbag time" Yesterday, we took a 20 mile . . . yes, you read that right 20 miles not kilometers . . . hike with the campers through the rolling hills of Germany. After, hiking for about 6 hours (15 miles), we stopped for dinner and slept outside, to be woken again at 5:45 AM to resume our hike (5 miles) to get the camp by 8:30 for breakfast. We had a full day, including calling for an ambulance, hold that thought, it wasn't for one of us, and they decided the camper didn't need to go to the emergency room. We would post more, but we are beat and heading for bed. Below is our schedule for tomorrow:

Each event runs till the next, so you are reading it correctly that our free time runs from 8:00-8:30 tomorrow. Day 2

Well, except for Seth who is turning into an old man and got up at 6:30. We arrived at the church grounds where the camp will be held. We also got the chance to visit with Juergen and Lydia for a little while. We decided Jannis and Finn are still little Americans, because they chowed down on the Cheerios and Goldfish we brought. :-) We helped prepare the campsite and got briefed on the camp this year. Tomorrow the campers arrive! The opening day event is a surprise for the campers, so we won't share it on here yet, but it is going to be a looooong day!
